Evangelical Church of Reichensachsen
The Evangelical Church in Reichensachsen , a district of the municipality of Wehretal in the Werra-Meißner district in Hesse , was originally built in the Middle Ages . The church is a protected architectural monument .
history
The oldest part of today's church is the Romanesque west tower , which was built in the last third of the 11th century. This was also used as a defense tower , as remains of loopholes testify to it today.
The church was originally dedicated to the apostles Peter and Paul . Around 1400 major alterations were made and in 1773 the old nave was replaced by a hall .
architecture
The church has a three-sided end and a mansard roof . The Romanesque tower made of sandstone blocks has tracery windows in its late Gothic structure . It is crowned by a high pointed helmet.
The barrel-vaulted ground floor of the tower is only accessible from the nave. The three-sided galleries were built around 1900. The nave is entered through the main entrance on the south side.
The oak door of the main entrance is decorated with carved images depicting various biblical motifs.
Furnishing
A late Gothic font is the oldest piece of equipment. The original altar and pulpit with carvings from the middle of the 17th century were removed in the course of the church renovation in 1999/2000. These were replaced by a modern designed altar and a pulpit in the choir room.
During the church renovation, the stained glass panes of the church were cleaned and repaired.
organ
The organ was installed in 1907 by the organ builder Euler from Hofgeismar . In the course of the church renovation around 2000, the organ was rebuilt and expanded. The play cabinet has been omitted and a mobile gaming table with 2 manuals , pedal and additional electronic registers has been set up on the gallery .
Today's instrument has 53 registers , 12 of which are made from real pipe material and the remaining 41 registers are from an electronic organ ( Ahlborn ). Electronic temperature sensors within the organ ensure an even tuning between the pipe and electronic registers, which can occur due to temperature changes (automatic pitch adjustment of the electronic registers). The game and stop action are electrical.
The disposition is as follows:
