Professional career

On August 21, 2009, the relatively large southpaw for a super middleweight made his successful debut with the professionals with a classic knockout victory in round 1 against his compatriot Jeseth Magallanes.

In December 2010 he defeated the up to then still undefeated Rogelio Medina (23-0-0) in a fight scheduled for 10 rounds in round 6 by technical knockout and thus captured the vacant junior world championship of the WBC.

For April 2016, a title fight against the reigning WBO world champion Arthur Abraham was scheduled in the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas . Ramirez won this deservedly unanimously with 120 to 108 on points. Due to his condition, excellent agility and speed, Ramirez was able to decide all rounds for himself.

Ramirez wanted to make his first voluntary title defense against Dominik Britsch from Neckarsulm . However, Ramirez suffered a hand injury in training on July 6, 2016, which is why the fight was first postponed, but then canceled.

On April 22nd, 2017, he defended his belt against the Ukrainian Max Bursak in the StubHub Center in Carson , California , in a clear and unanimous fight on points (3x 120: 106).

In September of the same year, Ramírez competed against the American Jesse Hart at the Tucson Convention Center in Tucson , Arizona . In this fight Ramírez also won unanimously on points and was able to defend the world title for the second time.

The following year, Ramirez defended his title with a technical knockout win in Round 6 against Habib Ahmed and a win by unanimous point decision over Roamer Angulo .
