Gina McKee

Georgina "Gina" McKee (born April 14, 1964 in Sunderland , England ) is a British actress .

Life

McKee was born in Sunderland , the daughter of a miner . She grew up in Peterlee , County Durham . From the age of 15 she played for several summers at the National Youth Theater and gained her first acting experience. She had her first minor role in 1988 in The Bite of the Snake Woman alongside Hugh Grant . Her greatest success so far was her role in the BBC television film Our Friends in the North , for which she received several awards.

She has been married to Kez Cary since 1989, with whom she now lives in East Sussex , England.
