Ginger Helgeson-Nielsen (born September 14, 1968 in St. Cloud , Minnesota ) is a former American tennis player .

Career

She was coached by her brother as a junior and in high school , and won the Minnesota singles tennis championships three times in a row.

In her professional career, she won a single title on the WTA Tour and a double title on the ITF Women's Circuit . In 1998 she ended her tennis career.

In 2008 Helgeson-Nielsen was inducted into the Peperdine Athletic Hall of Fame and in 2009 into the USTA Northern Hall of Fame.

Helgeson-Nielsen lives in Alpine , California . She has been married to Todd Nielsen since September 1994, has three children and works as a part-time teacher.
