Giorgio Bertin OFM (* 28. December 1946 in Galzignano Terme ) is from Italy originating Bishop of Djibouti and Apostolic Administrator of Mogadishu .

Life

Giorgio Bertin joined the Order of the Franciscans (OFM) and was ordained a priest on June 7, 1975 . Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Djibouti on March 13, 2001 . He was ordained bishop by the Apostolic Nuncio in Ethiopia , Eritrea and Djibouti, Silvano Maria Tomasi CS , on May 25 of the same year; Co- consecrators were Marco Dino Brogi OFM, Apostolic Nuncio in Sudan and Apostolic Delegate in Somalia , and Georges Marcel Émile Nicolas Perron OFMCap , Former Bishop of Djibouti. Bertin is currently also in charge of the diocese of Mogadishu , which is vacant after the last bishop Pietro Salvatore Colombo was murdered in 1989 .
