Giovanni Perrone

Giovanni Perrone SJ (born March 11, 1794 in Chieri ( Piedmont ), † August 28, 1876 in Castelgandolfo ) was a Roman Catholic theologian, Jesuit and dogmatist.

Giovanni Perrone studied theology in Turin and went to Rome in 1815 , where he joined the Society of Jesus . In 1816 he was appointed professor of theology in Orvieto and in 1823 at the Collegium Romanum . In 1830 he was rector of the Jesuit college in Ferrara , in 1833 professor of dogmatics, in 1853 rector at the Collegium Romanum and in 1873 head of the Gregorian University in Rome.

Among other things, he has made himself known through some works that have been translated into many European languages.
