Gisela Eichardt (* 1964 in Jena ) is a German sculptor .

Life

Gisela Eichardt studied fine arts and sculpture at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz from 1992 to 1998 under Christa Biederbick . She supplemented these studies in 1994/1995 with a study visit to the Visva Bharati University, Santiniketan in India.

In 1998 she received her diploma and in 1999 she became a master student of Christa Biederbick.

Her main works are sculptures and reliefs (mostly female figures) made of plaster of paris and wood, but she also works with other materials such as aluminum. In preparation for her artistic work, she observes people from her surroundings with a camera or video camera. From these recordings, she filters out the moments of calm, which she calls the inner gaze . This sometimes creates groups of works that she creates with different materials and techniques.

Gisela Eichardt lives and works as a freelance sculptor in Berlin and Jena.
