Giuseppe Matarrese (born June 3, 1934 in Andria , † June 27, 2020 in Frascati ) was an Italian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Frascati .

Life

At his express request, Giuseppe Matarrese attended the boys 'college in Andria and finished high school at the Roman boys' college. He studied at the Pontifical Roman Seminary and received on 15 March 1959, the priestly ordination . He was active in pastoral care in Rome, including pastor of the church of Santa Maria Ianua Coeli in the Roman district of Montespaccato and judge at the Vicariate Court of Rome. In 1987 he became President of the Interdiocesan Institute in Support of the Clergy of the Dioceses of Rome and Ostia and Treasurer of the Fondazione Migrantes of the Italian Bishops' Conference .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Frascati on November 11, 1989 .
