GiuRu ( Giuventetgna Rumantscha ) is an organization for all Romance young people . It supports young people in realizing sociocultural, Romance projects. The support includes financing, marketing and participation in the realization of the project.

The Giuru was founded in August 1991 on a Scuntrada of the Lia Rumantscha in Laax . Its aim is to establish contacts between Romansh-speaking young people in the various regions of Graubünden and to establish contacts with other language minorities , especially in Europe, mostly through the YEN , which Romansh youngsters have already helped to establish. The GiuRu is financed by the Lia Rumantscha, the umbrella organization for Romanic associations.

Board

The GiuRu Suprastanza usually consists of five members: President / a, Vicepresident / a, Cassier / a, Actuar / a, Assessur / a. If possible, all language groups are taken into account when choosing and the Radunanza Generala takes place in rotation in different regions. In 2015, a RG was convened in Zurich for the first time . In 2016 the 25th General Assembly took place again in Graubünden in Valchava in Val Müstair .

Projects

GiuRuTren : For the 25th Giubileum of GiuRu, the Suprastanza is organizing a train ride through the Romance-speaking area to Chapella , the place between the Lower and Upper Engadine where the Chapella Openair takes place. The train journey is shortened by musicians and other artists with entertaining contributions.

Vuschs Giuvnas : On the first Friday of the month, a page with contributions by young people has appeared in the Romance daily newspaper La Quotidiana since autumn 2014 ; the editorial team is in charge of GiuRu. For each published contribution, the young people receive 50 francs, additional additions to the actual text, such as photographs or graphics, are each rewarded with an additional 25 francs.

Rumantsch? Nus discurrin Rumantsch : With a sticker campaign in 2013, the GiuRu drew attention to signs and billboards in the Romance-speaking area that were only written in German and were widely commented on in the press. In 2014, companies that advocate the use of Romansh in everyday life can register on the website www.perrumantsch.ch and receive green stickers that indicate that Romansh can be spoken in business.

Giuventetgnas : The GiuRu has collected all contact details of the clubs of the various Giuventetgnas ( young teams ) in the canton of Graubünden. Over 80 club addresses are published on GiuRu's own website.

Posta-rumantscha : The GiuRu put together a Romance mailing list in 2006 that anyone interested can subscribe to. So that the list does not become «Spam Rumantsch», it is moderated. Currently (as of 2011) over 560 addresses are already registered.

Suns : («Sounds») The European music contest Suns, launched in Udine in 2009, was staged for the 20th Giubileum of GiuRu 2011 in Falera . In 2015 ME + MARIE won the preliminary round in Sardinia and the Suns Europe final in Udine.

Inscunters : GiuRu organized the YEN autumn seminar twice, in 2005 in Laax and in 2014 in La Punt in the Engadin . In addition, they have already carried out the SnowExchange several times , for the first time in 2009. The GiuRu was involved in the execution of the first Europeada in 2008, and in 2013 the CBR - CulturaBallapeRumantsch developed from these activities.

In addition, the GiuRu works together with the Lia Rumantscha on the online database Pledari Grond and has twice participated with projects in the Acziun 72 uras . 2015 visited five young people from the GiuRu over Incomindios a meeting of the ECOSOC of the United Nations in Geneva.

PUNTS («Bridges») The Punts magazine was a monthly Romansh language magazine by young people for (not only) young people. Articles could be written in all five traditional idioms as well as in Rumantsch Grischun. The magazine was discontinued at the end of 2011 after almost 18 years and 198 issues, the issues are still available online. There were no more young people to write articles. The magazine ended up with 400 subscribers.
