Glasgow Southside is a constituency for the Scottish Parliament . It was introduced in 2011 as one of nine constituencies in the Glasgow electoral region , which was redesigned as part of the 2011 constituency revision. Here, the constituency of Glasgow Southside was essentially formed from the areas of the former constituency of Glasgow Govan . It includes central and southwestern Glasgow boroughs, including Gorbals , Govanhill , Ibrox and Pollokshields . The constituency sends a representative.
The constituency extends over an area of 15.97 km 2 . This makes Glasgow Southside the third smallest constituency for the Scottish Parliament. In the 2011 census survey, a total of 66,005 people lived within its borders.
