Gleiß is a village in the market town of Sonntagberg in Lower Austria .

Gleiß is located on the right bank of the Ybbs between Kematen an der Ybbs and Rosenau am Sonntagberg .

There was also a small brewery in the village in the early 19th century, which sold 2250 buckets of beer a year.

The castle ruin Gleiß , which stood on a conglomerate rock directly next to the Ybbs , was burned down by the French in 1806 during the Second Napoleonic War and was never rebuilt.
