Glitzendes Glück is a German drama directed by Sven Taddicken from 2016 . Martina Gedeck and Ulrich Tukur play the main roles in the film, which goes back to the novel of the same name (original English title "Original Bliss") by AL Kennedy .

The film tells how a middle-aged woman who lives in an unhappy marriage and has doubts about her Christian faith seeks contact with a professor who writes and lectures about happiness . His porn addiction becomes apparent after a while. In the course of the film, the two get closer and closer and try to address the pressing questions and problems together and to find each other. Verena Lueken from the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung praises the intensity of the two main actors, but the relationship between the two is " not really plausible in the film ". The director does not dare to translate the language of the book appropriately and remains in " uncertainty " and " indecision ". Claudia Lenssen from the Tagesspiegel thinks that the film remains laconically short and emphasizes " the dream and nightmare character of the inner worlds ". The film won the Film & Literature Award at the Film by the Sea film festival in Vlissingen and was nominated for the Crystal Globe in the Best Film category at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival .
Martina Gedeck will also receive the "Prize for Drama 2017" on August 31, 2017 at the "13th Festival of German Films" in Ludwigshafen.
The German Film and Media Assessment FBW in Wiesbaden awarded the film the rating particularly valuable.
