The Gleitsbach (formerly also known as Kleine Luhe ) is an 11.77 km long right tributary of the Luhe in the district of Neustadt an der Waldnaab in the Upper Palatinate in Bavaria .

course

The Hutbach rises at 597 m on the western slope of the 624 m high Steinbühl. It flows down the slope and flows into a small pond in Oberhöll. The overflow of the pond seeps away or disappears in underground drainage pipes a few meters west of the pond.

The Hölltal begins about 800 m northeast of Oberhöll. The Hölltal is a narrow, deeply cut valley that stretches down from the southwestern outskirts of Letzau to about 1 km north of Bechtsrieth .

380 m further south-east of the infiltration point in Oberhöll, the infiltrated or piped Hutbach emerges again and now always flows on the valley floor in a south-westerly direction. This point is assumed to be the source of the Gleitsbach. After a further 220 m, a stream flows from the left, from the east, down the steep slope of the Pflanzbühl, which rises in the rich Hollerbrunnen spring. This Hollerbrunnen could also be seen as the source of the Gleitsbach. In addition, only 30 m further from the right, from the west, another spring brook flows down from the steep western slope of the Hölltal.

After another 500 m, the Gleitsbach passes the village of Mitterhöll and then after 250 m the village of Unterhöll. The Hölltal widens 500 m southwest of Unterhöll. The Gleitsbach leaves the narrow valley here and flows south through Bechtsrieth after another kilometer .

It initially flows on the northeast side of the federal road 22 (B 22) parallel to the road, then crosses under it and continues with you on its southwest side. Coming from Trebsau the Mühlbach flows from the right. On the northwestern edge of Irchenrieth the Gleitsbach leaves the B 22. On the western edge of Irchenrieth the Raitenbach (also: Irchenriether Mühlbach) flows from the left.

The Enzenriether Bach and the Glasergraben (also: Röhrlgraben) flow from the right. Then the Hennenbach from the left.

The Gleitsbach flows around Engleshof in an arch on its eastern edge. The Hölzerbach flows from the left behind Engleshof.

Now the Gleitsbach enters a narrow breakthrough valley again, which is bounded in the northwest by Kühtriftholz and in the southeast by the 467 m high stone bar and the 475 m high Luhehöhe. At the end of the valley, the Gleitsbach flows into the Luhe.
