Glen De Boeck (born August 22, 1971 in Boom ) is a former Belgian football player and current coach . From 2012 to 2013 he coached the Erstligaelf of Waasland .
Career
De Boeck began his career at KV Mechelen . In 1995 he moved to RSC Anderlecht . Here he was initially controversial, but developed his technical skills and became one of the best center- backs in the Pro League . In 2005 he had to end his career because of a knee injury and was taken over to the coaching staff of RSC Anderlecht.
De Boeck was a Belgian international . He made his debut for the red devils in a friendly against Gabon on October 6, 1993. By 2002 he had 36 missions, and he scored one goal. He was part of the Belgian squad at the 1998 and 2002 World Championships .
Trainer
On January 20, 2019, he was signed by Sporting Lokeren as a coach for the rest of the season. Although he could not prevent Lokeren's relegation from Division 1A , his contract was extended in June 2019. On November 17, 2019, he and his assistants were dismissed by Lokeren after the club was in 7th place in the table after half of the season, which would have meant participation in the relegation games at the end of the season.
