Glenn Wilson

Glenn Wilson (* 1954 ) is an American jazz - baritone saxophonist , flautist and bass clarinetist .

After his student years, Glenn Wilson moved to New York City in 1977 , where he worked in the Buddy Rich Band, the Lionel Hampton Orchestra, the Toshiko Akiyoshi Jazz Orchestra, Tito Puente , Machito , the Bob Belden Ensemble and other formations.

In 1984 he recorded his first album under his own name, Impasse , for the Cadence Records label , on which musicians such as Harold Danko , Dennis Irwin and Adam Nussbaum participated. In 1988 Wilson began working with the Sunnyside Records label ; This resulted in a number of albums, such as Elusive in 1987 with Jim Powell and Bob Belden, the duo album Bittersweet in 1990/92 with guitarist Rory Stewart , in 1990 with a quintet Blue Porpoise Avenue , and finally One Man's Blues . The album Lee's Keys Please was later created for Timeless Records . Most recently, the album One Man's Blues was released in 2000 ; Wilson also worked on numerous productions as an accompanist, in 1993 he worked with the pianist Bruce Hornsby , was a member of his accompanying band and took part in his 1993 album Harbor Lights . From 1991 to 2001, Glenn Wilson was active in the jazz scenes of Virginia, Washington DC, and Baltimore. He is now working with his band The Jazzmanics in the Illinois area.

Glenn Wilson lives with his family in Normal , Illinois.
