Glyvrar

Glyvrar [ ˈgliːvɹaɹ ] ( Danish name : Glibre ) is a place in the Faroe Islands on the island of Eysturoy .

Glyvrar is located in the contiguous settlement area around Runavík on Skálafjørður , the longest fjord in the Faroe Islands.

The largest local employer is the Bakkafrost fish factory .

The village church dates from 1927 and was expanded in 1981. There is also the village museum Bygdasavnið Forni, which is well worth seeing .
