The Gmina Miechów is an urban-and-rural municipality in the powiat Miechowski of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat and that of the Powiat is the city of the same name ( German Mechau ) with 11,765 inhabitants (2016).

traffic
The Kamieńczyce and Szczepanowice stops on the Warszawa – Kraków railway line are located next to the Miechów long-distance train station in the municipality. Miechów was also on the former Charsznica – Kocmyrzów narrow-gauge railway .
Personalities
- Carlo Cardinal Furno (1921–2015), Cardinal and Cardinal Grand Master of the Order of Knights of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem, made an honorary citizen in 1996.
