The Gmina Szamocin is an urban-and-rural municipality in the powiat Chodzieski of the Greater Poland Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat is the city of the same name ( German Samotschin ) with about 4200 inhabitants.
geography
The municipality is located in the northeast of the voivodeship, the border with the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship is only two kilometers away. The northern border of the municipality is formed by the networks .
history
The municipality has existed since 1973. It came from 1975 to 1998 to the newly formed Piła Voivodeship , which was dissolved in 1999.
Partnerships
The community of Szamocin maintains a partnership with the Lower Saxony community of Grasberg in Germany.
