The Goldbach is a tributary of the Tollense in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . It rises southeast of Gützkow and west of Tützpatz in the Mecklenburg Lake District and initially flows in a north-easterly direction, about 1.7 kilometers piped and further straightened. In Tützpatz he crosses the pond in the estate park and the village pond. To the northeast of the village, the Goldbach first passes the open “New Torfkuhle” and shortly afterwards the low marshland of the silted up, biotope-protected “Old Torfkuhle”. The Vossbach flows into the Goldbach to the south-east of Validz . At the Buchberg it changes its course, is dammed up at the gold mill and from there flows meandering through a valley that was formed in the Ice Age and partly deeply rugged to the southeast. This area has been classified as a landscape protection area since 1962 . Northwest of Mühlenhagen, the Goldbach takes on the Marienbach, before it reaches the Tollense lowlands near Friedenthal and after a total length of about 14 kilometers east of Mühlenhagen flows into the Tollense.
The Goldbach was first mentioned in a document in 1245 as a gold beacon . In the 13th or 14th century, a water mill was built north of Rosemarsow , which is called Goldmühle , Goldbachmühle or Goldbacher Mühle . In Friedenthal near Mühlenhagen there is a former water mill that had two overshot wheels .
