The Goldbach rises at the foot of the Altenmarkskopf south of the Trages farm in Hesse. It initially runs to the east, flows through some ponds and reaches the border with Bavaria. There the Goldbach bends to the southeast and flows along the Goldberg vineyard (220 m), partly over a channel to Michelbach . There it crosses under the 2305 state road and the Kahltal-Spessart cycle path and flows into the Kahl .
