Gonschiorowitz , Polish Gąsiorowice , is a place in Upper Silesia in the municipality of Himmelwitz (Jemielnica) in the powiat Strzelecki in the Opole Voivodeship .
geography
Gonschiorowitz is located northwest of the Jemielnica parish seat. To the north of Gonschiorowitz there are several ponds and the stream Himmelwitzer Wasser (Jemielnica) flows.
history
In the 14th century the place was called Gansorowicz . In 1463 the name Ganszrowicz was mentioned and in 1526 the name Husarowitz .
In 1680 the plague raged in Gonschiorowitz.
In the referendum on March 20, 1921, 112 eligible voters voted to remain with Germany and 422 for Poland. Nonetheless, Gonschiorowitz remained with the German Empire. In 1933 there were 1,140 inhabitants in Gonschiorowitz.
On June 15, 1936, the place was renamed Quellenental . In 1939 there were 1,366 inhabitants in Quellental.
In 1945 the place came under Polish administration and was renamed Gąsiorowice . In 1950 the place was assigned to the Opole Voivodeship and in 1999 the re-established Powiat Strzelecki .
