Gonzach is a gang from the Schlaiten community . The village is located high above the Iseltal west of the community center in the district of Lienz in Tyrol , Austria .
geography
Gonzach lies between the Mesnerdorf (community center of Schlaiten) and the Rotte Plone in the southeast. It comprises 15 house numbers, with the main part of the settlement crowding around the farms Ausserweberer, Gantschnig, Innerweberer, Rösch, Unterweberer and Zenzer. To the northeast of this is a group of houses around the Gruber farm, from which a road leads to the southeast to the Bichler farm. The northern end of the settlement is the Eichbichler farm with the warrior chapel, which is located on Schlaitener Straße (L 289). In the south there are several scattered buildings with the farms Talmöser and Kraßnig (Innerkrass).
history
Gonzach is first mentioned as Gonza village in 1862 . The name probably has the same origin as the district of Gantschach , but was not Germanized until later. The late documentary mention probably results from the fact that the place was previously always subsumed under a different part of the village.
Gonzach consisted of eight houses and 50 residents in 1890. In 1981 the village consisted of 15 buildings with 13 households. The population was 84 people.
