Goran ( Serbian - Cyrillic Горан ) is a male given name that is common in the Yugoslav successor states . It exists in Kurdish in the same spelling but with a different meaning (see list of Kurdish first names ). It is not to be confused with the Swedish name Göran .
Origin and meaning
Goran translated means "the man from the mountains" or "the miner". Other translations are "Der Mann aus dem Wald" or "Der Waldmensch".
