Göran Folke Lindblom (born March 4, 1956 in Skellefteå ) is a former Swedish ice hockey player and coach .

Career

Göran Lindblom began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of Skellefteå AIK , for whose senior team he made his debut in Division 1 , the highest Swedish division, in the 1972/73 season . In his rookie year he rose with Skellefteå in the second-class Division 2 , from which he and his team in 1974 managed to get promoted again. From the 1975/76 season , the defender ran with his team in the newly founded professional league Elitserien . With Skellefteå he won the Swedish championship in the 1977/78 season . With 35 assists he was the best assists in the Elitserien in the following season . In the 1984/85 season he rose again with Skellefteå, this time in the now second-class Division 1, but reached with his team again in the 1985/86 season the direct promotion. The Swede last played for third division team Malå IF from 1988 to 1990 before ending his active career at the age of 34.

At the 2000 World Cup , Lindblom was the assistant coach of the Swedish U18 national junior team.

International

For Sweden , Lindblom took part in the junior division of the U20 World Junior Championships in 1974 and 1976 . In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad at the World Championships in 1978 , 1981 and 1982 and at the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo .
