Gorgônio Alves da Encarnação Neto OTheat (born September 17, 1949 in Fartura ) is a Brazilian religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Itapetininga .
Life
Gorgonio Alves da Encarnação Neto joined the Congregation of Theatines at and received on 22 December 1974, the priestly ordination .
Pope John Paul II appointed him on April 15, 1998 as the first bishop of the diocese of Itapetininga, established on the same date . The Archbishop of Sorocaba , José Lambert Filho CSS , donated him episcopal ordination on July 19 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Fernando Legal SDB , Bishop of São Miguel Paulista , and Alano Maria Pena OP , Bishop of Nova Friburgo .
