José Lambert Filho

José Lambert Filho CSS (born March 15, 1929 in Igarapava , São Paulo (state) , Brazil ; † February 26, 2007 ) was a Brazilian religious and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Sorocaba .

Life

José Lambert Filho joined the Order of the Stigmatines and was ordained a priest on January 10, 1954 .

On January 4, 1975 he was appointed by Pope Paul VI. appointed Bishop of Itapeva . The Apostolic Nuncio in Brazil, Archbishop Carmine Rocco , donated him episcopal ordination on March 19 of the same year. Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Livramento de Nossa Senhora , Hélio Paschoal CSS, and the Coadjutor Bishop of Assis , Antônio de Souza CSS.

On November 30, 1979, John Paul II was appointed Coadjutor Bishop of Sorocaba . With the resignation of José Melhado Campos on March 20, 1981, he succeeded him as Bishop of Sorocaba. With the elevation to the Archdiocese of Sorocaba on April 29, 1992 he became its first Archbishop. On May 4, 2005, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related retirement.
