The Gosenbach is an almost eight kilometers long, left and western tributary of the Red Main in Upper Franconia .

The stream was never straightened, it kept its natural course and gently meanders through meadows and forests. In the summers of 2018 and 2019, it and its tributaries dried up temporarily, and fish and the crustaceans that previously existed there lost their habitat. Even in winter, the Gosenbach now has visibly less water.
