Gottlieb Sigismund Karl Miesitschek von Wischkau (born January 14, 1745 in Schlesisch-Drehnow (today (Polish) Drzonów ); † November 1, 1810 in Berlin ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

His parents were the heir to Schlesisch-Drehnow Gottlob Siegmund Miesitschek von Wischkau and his wife Johanna Therese, née von Rabenau .

Military career

During the Seven Years' War in 1760 he came as a Junker in the Dragoon Regiment "Alt-Württemberg" . He took part in the battle of Torgau as well as in the defense of Kolberg and the battle near Reichenbach . On January 2, 1761, he became an ensign and on June 24, 1763, second lieutenant .

After the war, it was not until April 9, 1778 that he was promoted to Prime Lieutenant. As such, he took part in the War of the Bavarian Succession . On September 18, 1782 he was chief of staff , on June 10, 1790 major and on May 29, 1790 squadron chief . On May 16, 1794 he was transferred to the king's headquarters on a special assignment. In the campaign in Poland in 1794/95 he was able to distinguish himself in the battle near Warsaw that he received the order Pour le Mérite . On January 5, 1795, he was transferred to the Upper War College as an assessor , his salary was 2000 thalers. He climbed on 9 June 1798 Lieutenant Colonel , on June 7, 1799 Colonel and finally on May 20, 1806 Major General with patent of 3 June 1806. On August 16, 1806, he received confirmation that he should remain in his position and an allowance of 1000 thalers. On December 26th, 1808, however, he was retired.

He died unmarried on November 1, 1810 in Berlin and was buried on November 5, 1810 in the garrison cemetery.
