history
In 1884, the French officer and traveler Charles de Foucauld (1858-1916) came on a trip to Algeria in the place. He reported on clashes among the Berber tribes, which, however, became less frequent after the establishment of the Protectorate (1912) and the increasing military presence of the French and finally ceased completely.
