Goya (Original title: Goya en Burdeos , Video Title: Goya in Bordeaux ) is a Spanish film directed by Carlos Saura from the year 1999 , it shows in a series of flashbacks, the life of Spanish painter Francisco de Goya .

The deaf and sick Goya spends the last years of his life in French exile in Bordeaux , because as a liberal he does not want to live in Spain under the rule of Ferdinand VII .
