The Grünwalder road is an arterial road in Munich . It forms part of State Road 2072 and is named after the municipality of Grünwald south of Munich, in whose direction it leads.

The four-lane road begins in the Untergiesing-Harlaching district on the Mittlerer Ring as a straight continuation of the Tegernseer Landstrasse, which bends almost at right angles here . On football stadium over it runs on the eastern high bank of the Isar in southsouthwest direction parallel to the river to the Theodolindenplatz where added rush towards Grünwald of the Geiselgasteigstraße, the rectilinear continuation of Grünwalder road but is formed by the Harthauser road through the same Villenkolonie to Gutshof Menterschwaige (historically: Harthausen).

Tram line 25 to Grünwald, which is reinforced by line 15, runs through Grünwalder Straße on its own track bed in the middle of the street . At Wettersteinplatz the street is crossed by the subway, which has an underground station here .

Grünwalder Straße has only a few monuments named in the Bavarian list of monuments , namely:

  • the residential complex no. 17, 19, 21, 23, a four-wing complex (with Säbener Strasse 2/4/6/8/10), built by Emil Freymuth 1922-1924 , and that
  • Residential and economic property No. 40, from 1889, in a country house style, with outbuildings five years older.
