The Gradsteg is an inner-city street in the Saxon city of Radebeul , in the districts of Kötzschenbroda and Niederlößnitz . The local old road originally represented the connection between the village center of Kötzschenbroda, Altkötzschenbroda , and the associated vineyard corridor.

The Gradsteg begins in Altkötzschenbroda at the former transition between Anger and Markt (the square in front of the church ). It runs to the north parallel to Bahnhofstrasse further to the west or its extension, Moritzburger Strasse . He crosses under the railway tracks of the Leipzig – Dresden railway line and crosses Meißner Strasse , where Ledenweg begins on a plot of land further east . Further north the degree footbridge leads over the Heinrich Zille Street, the former border road between Kötzschenbroda and Niederlößnitz, and went up to the Winzerstraße as Gass long time, the east-west running main link the western Loessnitz wineries. In 1865, the Gradsteg, which had been undeveloped for a long time, was extended to Obere Bergstrasse. The Gradsteg was mainly built from the 19th century.

The numbering of the house addresses starts at the junction from Anger Altkötzschenbroda with no. 1 on the west side, followed by no. 1b, opposite is no. 1a. At the intersection with Heinrich-Ilgen-Straße or Vorwerkstraße, the odd numbers go to the west, i.e. left, continue and the even numbers are on the right-hand east side. In the district of Kötzschenbroda it goes to the intersection with Heinrich-Zille-Straße: there are corner plots nos. 17 and 18. On Niederlößnitzer Flur it goes to Oberen Bergstraße , where nos. 51 and 58 are.

Various cultural monuments are located along the Gradsteg and are therefore included in the list of cultural monuments in Radebeul-Kötzschenbroda and -Niederlößnitz (A – L) , some with addresses of cross streets:

The owner of Villa Emma (Gradweg 51) won the Radebeul Builder Award in 1997 .

Naming

In the oldest written preserved village Rügen Kötzschenbrodas of 1497, named after its writer Thanneberger Ruegen , is the straight steygk listed as a link between Kötzschenbroda and associated vineyard hallway with a dead straight captivity as a characteristic feature. In 1630 the connecting route was referred to as the straight Steigk .

The section running directly to Anger Altkötzschenbroda was given the name Marktgäßchen in the 19th century .

In 1897, as with numerous other streets in the Lößnitz villages, the official name was given or, in this case, the partial rededication: the official name Gradsteg was given to the entire street in both communities, which had belonged together before 1839.
