After Count Milon's son and heir, Walter, died on July 30, 1219 at the siege of Damiette , he named his sister, Margarethe, and his niece, Laurence de Sennecy, his heirs with equal rights. Count Milon fell on October 17 or 18 of the same year, also before Damiette. The two heirs sold their respective shares in Bar-sur-Seine to the Count of Champagne in 1220 . Together with this, Bar-sur-Seine was united with the French crown domain in 1284 .
