Graham Jackson

Graham Jackson (born February 15, 1967 in Burnham-on-Sea, Somerset , England, † July 23, 2012 in Cambridge ) was a British conductor and general music director of the theaters in Krefeld and Mönchengladbach .

After studying at Trinity College at Cambridge University from 1985 to 1988, Jackson completed a three-year conducting course at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester . In 1992 he was appointed to the Welsh National Opera in Cardiff , where he worked as Kapellmeister until 2000 . He has also made guest appearances at the Komische Oper Berlin , the Opera Northern Ireland, the Glyndebourne Festival , the Bastille Opera in Paris , the Frankfurt Opera , the Hamburg State Opera and the Vienna Volksoper .

As a concert conductor, Jackson has played with the Hallé Orchestra, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and the Berlin Symphony Orchestra . In addition to the operatic repertoire, Jackson also made a name for himself as a conductor of world premieres. a. with works by Charlotte Seither , Stefan Heucke and Sidney Corbett .

From 2000 to 2003 he was the first conductor at the Bremen Theater. Graham Jackson has been general music director of the Krefeld and Mönchengladbach theaters since the 2003/2004 season and last performed as a conductor of concerts in both cities in early July 2012.

He leaves a wife and children.
