Greg Jenkins (born June 11, 1962 ) is a former Australian snooker and pool player who, after two junior titles at the Australian snooker championship, spent eight years as a professional snooker player between 1985 and 1993 and subsequently competed in various pool tournaments.

Career

Professional snooker career

After Jenkins won the Australian Snooker Championship in 1979 in the U18 category and in 1983 also in the U23 category, Jenkins became a professional snooker player for the 1985/85 season . During this first season, Jenkins was only able to win a game on his own in two tournaments, one at the UK Championship , where he was eliminated after defeating Pascal Burke against Malcolm Bradley , and the other at the British Open , where he went through Victories over Bert Demarco and Jim Meadowcroft reached the main round and lost in this against Mark Wildman . In the world ranking , he was led consequently ranked 95th Also in the next season , he retired almost always up early so that it again only at a tournament, in which case the Classic reached the Round of 64, where after beating Maurice Parkin and George Scott to Steve Davis was beaten . Further life

Following his snooker career, Jenkins took part in various pool tournaments. He was eliminated from the group stage of the WPA 9-Ball World Championship in 2002 and the 2007 edition , while he took part in the World Cup of Pool as one of the two Australian representatives in both 2009 and 2011 , but both times did not make it to the second round. He also took part in the US Open 2012 without much success .

Nevertheless, Jenkins continued to appear as a snooker player several times. After reaching the quarter-finals of the Australian Masters in 1995 , he took part in the Australian Open Championship several times more than twenty years later , with a participation in the round of 32 being his best result.
