The good bye

On September 1, 1905, he married Marianne Feddersen, a daughter of the landscape painter Hans Peter Feddersen . Around 1907 von Bochmann moved into one of the studios in the artist house of the sculptor August Bauer (1868–1961) at Grafenberger Allee 32/34. In September 1914 he was killed as a war volunteer in France , on a hill on the Chemin des Dames . After completing his studies, Bochmann established his studio in Düsseldorf, first on Geibelstrasse, then on Herderstrasse, and finally on Kurfürstenstrasse. Thematically, he essentially followed the genre painting of his famous father, but developed a preference for themes and scenes from the Frisian milieu. In 1904, his sculpture Abschied in Vienna was awarded the large gold state medal after it had already been shown at the Düsseldorf industrial and trade exhibition in 1902 . Bochmann also took part in exhibitions in Vienna, Dresden, Cologne and Munich. The Neckereibrunnen at Görres-Gymnasium on Königsallee was built in 1909. In 1910, Bochmann designed a series of reliefs for the Kreuzkirche . The Linnenbauer monument , which was erected there in 1909, is located in Herford .

From May 6 to June 3, 1917, a commemorative exhibition for the deceased was held in the Düsseldorf art gallery. In 1932 his bronze farewell was put up in Oberkassel . For the grave of his grandfather Julius Poensgen , the sculptor created a two-part relief Four Ages . Under the grave inscriptions there is a plaque in memory of the sculptor.
