Greißing is a district of the town of Geiselhöring in the Lower Bavarian district of Straubing-Bogen .

location

Greißing is about one kilometer northwest of Geiselhöring. The Kleine Laber flows between the two places .

history

The place was already mentioned in 1280 (Graevzing). The Roman hills (scouting hills) are evidence of Roman times. In 1280 the place was represented in a ducal court. In 1321 income from a mill in Grauissing was mentioned. In the 14th century, the Obermünster monastery owned properties here. In the 16th century Greißing was called with the church on the Laber. Greißing possessions fell to the church foundation of the Peter Parish in Geiselhöring. In 1823 there were 23 houses with an inn and a sawmill. In 1927 the tower of the roof tile works fell.

Displaced persons increased the number of residents. In 1972 the formerly independent municipality of Greißing, a good 558 hectares in size and consisting of the municipality parts Greißing, Kolbach , Kraburg and Schieglmühle , was completely incorporated into Geiselhöring.
