The Grevenmacher District was from its inception in 1843 until the abolition on October 3, 2015, district in Luxembourg , the eastern Gutland included. It consisted of the cantons of Echternach , Grevenmacher and Remich . The district was located in the east of Luxembourg and bordered in the north on Rhineland-Palatinate , in the east on Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland , in the south on the Lorraine region ( France ) and in the west on the districts of Luxembourg and Diekirch .

The capital of the district was  Grevenmacher , the largest town was  Echternach .
