The Gribowski G-26 ( Russian Грибовский Г-26 ) was an aircraft of the Soviet aircraft designer Wladimir Konstantinowitsch Gribowski .

development

The single-seater low-wing aircraft made entirely of wood with an open cockpit and rigid landing gear was similar in its design to the Gribowski G-22 . Development in the Moscow glider factory began when the first plans became known that a speed competition for sports machines would be carried out in 1939.

The machine had a rigid chassis with fairing. It was equipped with a 150 hp air-cooled MG-40 in-line engine. The first flight took place on December 22, 1938. Since the engine caused problems, the further tests with a ski chassis were continued in February 1939. At that time the glider factory was closed. The race did not take place either. The machine then served as an aerobatic trainer.
