The Gribowski G-28 Kretschet ( Russian Грибовский Г-28 Кречет , German Gerfalke ) was an aircraft of the Soviet aircraft designer Vladimir Gribowski in the 1940s.
development
The single-seat low-wing aircraft made entirely of wood was developed as a fighter aircraft trainer by OKB -28. Gribowski chose a rigid, bare landing gear, but a closed cockpit. The Renault Bengali MW-6 engine, manufactured under license in the Soviet Union, was selected as the drive . The armament consisted of two SchKAS machine guns and a shooting camera . Up to 40 kg of weaponry could be carried for bomb training.
In the spring of 1941 the machine was assembled, the first flight took place on May 22, 1941 by W. Gawrilow. Under the direction of the LII , several other pilots, including M. Gromow , P. Stefanowski and A. Jumaschew, tested the aircraft and gave it good reviews. The flight tests could be completed within a month. It was suggested to use the more powerful MW-6A engine and then carry out flight tests again. When introducing production, the designation TI-28 (TI for training hunters) should be assigned.
With the start of the Great Patriotic War exactly one month after the first flight, however, the LII was evacuated and work stopped. The first prototype was flown to Yekaterinburg , where its trail is lost. The second prototype under construction was no longer completed.
