The Gribowski G-27 ( Russian Грибовский Г-27 ) was an aircraft of the Soviet aircraft designer Vladimir Gribowski .

development

The three-seat, all-wooden, low -wing aircraft with retractable landing gear was developed as a crew trainer for multi-engine aircraft. In addition, the machine had a bomb bay and a number of bomb locks for exercise bombs. In the glass nose there was space for the navigator or the bombardier. The machine had a double rudder. The M-11 engines used were later replaced by more powerful M-11E with 118 kW (160 hp).

In 1938 the machine was completed in the OSSOAWIACHIM glider factory in Tushino . The first flight took place on February 10, 1939 through Fedosjejew. During the test flights, the retractable landing gear could not be operated because important parts were missing. Due to the high wing loading , the machine was difficult to control, especially in slow flight. After a few attempts, the machine was mothballed because Gribowski had been assigned to develop cargo gliders and a comparable aircraft, the Jakowlew UT-3, was already in series production.
