Griesbach is a village and a cadastral municipality in the municipality of Haugschlag in the Gmünd district in Lower Austria .

The Griesbach-Gramett settlement, which is located east of Griesbach on Waidhofener Strasse , also belongs to the village of Griesbach .

history

Griesbach was part of the Litschau rule for many centuries.

Settlement development

In 1590/91 Griesbach counted 12 subordinate houses; In 1751 the place also had 12 subordinate houses.

At the turn of the year 1979/1980 there were a total of 35 building areas with 19,975 m² and 20 gardens on 34,433 m² in the cadastral community of Griesbach, also in 1989/1990 there were 35 building areas. In 1999/2000 the number of building areas had grown to 166 and in 2009/2010 there were 99 buildings on 170 building areas.

Agriculture

The cadastral community is characterized by agriculture. 143 hectares were used for agriculture at the turn of the year 1979/1980 and 150 hectares were forest areas. In 1999/2000 agriculture was carried out on 114 hectares and 173 hectares were designated as areas used for forestry. At the end of 2018, 87 hectares were used as agricultural land and forestry was carried out on 18,638 hectares. The average soil climate of Griesbach is 16.8 (as of 2010).
