The Grigol Robakidze University ( Georgian გრიგოლ რობაქიძის სახელობის უნივერსიტეტი ) in Tbilisi is a state-recognized private university in Georgia . It offers courses in the humanities and social sciences , business administration , law , journalism and dentistry .

history

The university was founded in 1992 under the name Alma Mater . In 1994 she opened to lecturers from the USA and Germany . In 1995 it was renamed Grigol Robakidze University. The namesake was the Georgian writer Grigol Robakidze , who lived in exile in Germany and Switzerland from 1931 to 1962 . Between 2001 and 2003 she participated in the EU university program TEMPUS / TACIS , which led to an increased exchange of lecturers and students with Western Europe and to a reform of language teaching.

courses

The university offers bachelor's degrees in print, television and radio journalism , public relations , English , German , law, European law, business and financial services, international business administration, tourism management and public administration . It can master -Studiengänge in English, television and radio journalism, public administration and political philosophy , business administration and dentistry are occupied. They were set up based on European and American models. Model were mainly Anglo-Saxon universities, including the University of Georgia , the Nottingham Trent University and the Open University of Cambridge International College .

Affiliated facilities

The university has a grammar school that can be attended from grade 10, three medical dental and maxillofacial surgery clinics , two research centers and three research laboratories. The university library houses 15,000 books. A television studio is available for journalism students to practice. Successful programs are broadcast on a rented monthly slot on Georgia's public radio .
