Grit Haid

Grit Haid (born March 14, 1900 in Vienna ; † August 13, 1938 near Offenburg in the Black Forest ; actually according to the birth and baptismal register Margarethe (Grete) Anna Haid ) was an Austrian actress .

Life

Liane Haid's sister received ballet lessons and became a solo dancer at the Volksoper . As a teenager she came to her first film appearances and was soon committed to the role of the cheerful Viennese girl. After the First World War she worked for, among others, Wiener Filmag . She played predominantly in film comedies, occasionally also in productions with dramatic content, and appeared in German film from 1926.

In addition, she remained connected to the theater in Vienna and Berlin and acted in 1926/27 under the direction of Max Reinhardt as Fräulein Roboz in Molnar's one-act play Das Veilchen and as Nannie in Maugham's Viktoria . In the thirties, Grit Haid, who was married to the screenwriter Josef Than, could only be seen in small roles. On her return trip to her husband in Paris, the plane (Prague-Paris flight) crashed near Offenburg. Grit Haid was among the 17 fatalities.
