Grit Otto (born July 1, 1990 ) is a German biathlete .

Career

Grit Otto started for the TuS Dippoldiswalde , where she was trained by Wolfgang Sturm, since the end of the 2000s for the SSV Altenberg . At the German Junior Championships in 2007 she was third in the individual and sixth in the overall ranking of the German Cup. For women in the power range it is since 2012 in cross-country running - Summer Biathlon at the start. First, she narrowly missed the podium twice at the IBU Summer Cup 2012 in Duszniki-Zdrój as fifth in the sprint and fourth in the pursuit. At the European Summer Biathlon Championships 2012 in Osrblie , which took place a little later , she was only 20th in the sprint despite only one shooting error due to running deficits. With again good shooting performance with three mistakes, she improved her rank in the pursuit race to 18th place. With the German mixed relay, she missed a better placement as fifth placed on the side of Judith Wagner , Michael Herr and Hendrik Redeker , mainly due to the poor shooting performance of the men which resulted in seven penalty loops. At the 2015 European Skimarathon Championships at Skadi Loppet , Otto started for the TU Bergakademie Freiberg running team and finished seventh in the overall ranking, fourth in the D21 class ranking and ninth in the team ranking together with Peter Hoffmann and Cornelius Oertel. Otto started at the Summer Biathlon World Championships in Cheile Grădiştei in the summer of 2015 , finishing 32nd in the sprint and 25th in the pursuit. In summer 2016 she started at the Summer Biathlon World Championships in Otepää . She took 44th place in the sprint and 14th in the mixed relay with Annika Schlegel , Paul Böttner and Peter Hoffmann.
