The Großenhain Cottb Bf station ("Cottbuser Bahnhof") is an operating point of the Grossenhain Cottb Bf – Priestewitz and Großenhain Cottb Bf – Cottbus – Frankfurt (Oder) railway lines as well as the connecting line to Grossenhain Berl Bf . The Cottbus train station was put into operation on October 14, 1862 by the two railway company to Großenhain as Leipzig train station .
history
The line from Großenhain to Cottbus was put into operation on April 20, 1870. On June 17, 1875, the 920 meter long connecting line to the Berlin train station went into operation.
Since December 15, 2002, all passenger traffic has been handled via the Cottbus train station; the Berlin train station was abandoned as a train stop. In addition, a modern crossing point for regional and city bus traffic of the Riesa-Großenhain roundabout company (later Meißen transport company ) was created.
description
The stations of Großenhain, Berliner Bahnhof and Böhla were subordinate to the Cottbuser Bahnhof. The station has two platform tracks for passenger traffic and two further main tracks for freight traffic . A locomotive shed still existed between the tracks until December 2007 .
There are still several loading tracks for freight traffic and a usable connecting railway . One track was previously used by Agro Service Grossenhain and ran a few meters parallel to the Berlin-Dresden Railway in the direction of Böhla. But this connection no longer exists.
The second connecting line runs to the left of the main track towards Lampertswalde and used to open up the airfield and the former paper mill. The ITL railway company from Dresden used the siding of the paper mill for several years and operated a recycling plant there. It is currently used by the Bothur company, which occasionally lets goods traffic take place. Cement handling for the expansion of the motorway near Thiendorf also took place there.
The command interlocking B1 and the guard interlocking W2 are responsible for the safe operation of the railway . Until the beginning of the 1990s, it was a mechanical signal box with key works without a route block . There were three full barrier systems in the station area that were not signal-dependent . It was possible to drive into station tracks 1, 2, 13 and 14 using signals .
Freight transport
During the time of the Reichsbahn, three pairs of local goods trains from Ruhland and four pairs of local goods trains from the direction of Coswig were disbanded and formed at the Cottbus train station, which often ran with excessive lengths. These trains always entered and exited from platform 14 (towards Ruhland) and from platform 13 (towards Coswig). The dissolution and formation of these trains took place in the push-off process. Diversion trains often ran during construction work on the Berlin route. Today there is no more freight traffic here.
Tourist traffic
During the time of the Reichsbahn, four pairs of express trains ran from Dresden to Cottbus (Frankfurt / Oder) and one pair of express trains from Dresden to Angermünde. Two pairs of express trains carried long-distance wagons of the Soviet State Railways as through wagons, which operated as excess loading gauge . Local trains ran on the Priestewitz – Hoyerswerda and Priestewitz – Cottbus and Lübbenau routes.
Today the following local transport lines operate:
line | route | Cycle (min) | operator |
---|---|---|---|
RE 15 | Dresden Hbf - Coswig (near Dresden) - Großenhain Cottb Bf - Ruhland - Hoyerswerda | 120 | DB Regio Nordost |
