The Verkehrsgesellschaft Meißen (VGM) is a local transport company in the district of Meißen . The VGM bus routes and ferries are part of the Upper Elbe transport association . The traffic area includes the district of Meißen and parts of the city of Wilsdruff in the neighboring district of Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains .

With the timetable change in December 2009, VGM took over all lines of the Riesa-Großenhain roundabout company , which was renamed a pure management company for bus traffic in the district.

Line network

VGM's offer comprises 105 bus routes and two Elbe ferries . In addition, tram line 4 of the Dresdner Verkehrsbetriebe (DVB) runs through the company's catchment area . In Meißen there is a collective call taxi and the Meißen city tour . Lines 409, 416, 418, 421 and 424 have been operating as so-called "plus buses" since June 10, 2018; the lines concerned are marked with a plus. On December 9, 2018, the new PlusBus line 477 (Dresden - Moritzburg - Radeburg - Großenhain) was added, which replaces lines 326 and 457. The new Radebeul bus network was introduced at the same time. Line 327 was merged into two new bus lines, line 475 (Dippelsdorf - Radebeul-Kötzschenbroda) and line 476 (Dresden-Trachau - Radebeul-Kötzschenbroda). Three lines were also renumbered, line 328 became 478, 331 became 423 and 334 became 425.
