The Great Ahlertsberg in the urban area of Bad Laasphe in the North Rhine-Westphalian district of Siegen-Wittgenstein is 644.9  m above sea level. NHN high mountain in the Rothaar Mountains .

Location and mountain height

The Große Ahlertsberg rises in the southeast of the Sauerland-Rothaargebirge nature park . It is located between Bad Laasphe (northeast) and between the districts of Hesselbach (south-south-west), Banfe (north-west), Herbertshausen (north-north-west) and Laaspherhütte (north). Its south-southeast branch is the Kleine Ahlertsberg ( 597.8  m ) about 700 m away , and the summit of the Wartholzkopf ( 620.3  m ) is about 875 m north-northeast . The Banfe tributary Tredenbach (Tretenbach) rises to the east of the transition area to the Wartholzkopf .

The Great Ahlertsberg is 644.9  m high. Near its summit, an altitude of 644.0  m is recorded on topographic maps .

Natural allocation

The Große Ahlertsberg belongs in the natural spatial main unit group Süderbergland (No. 33) and in the main unit Rothaargebirge (with Hochsauerland ) (333) to the subunit Südwittgensteiner Bergland ( Wittgensteiner Lahnbergland ; 333.2).

Protected area

The Great Ahlertsberg is located in the Bad Laasphe landscape protection area ( CDDA no. 555558490; designated 1987; 122.9381  km² in size).

Wind farm

Parts of the Hesselbach wind farm are located on the Großer Ahlertsberg .
