The Große Schinkensee (also Großer Tschinkensee .) Is a lake in Brandenburg through which the Schlaube flows. Together with the Kleiner Schinkensee it has a surface of approx. 5 ha .
The lake was also known as Großer Tschineken See (1758) or Große Zschincke (1786). The name is derived from the Lower Sorbian sćina for reed .

There are mainly stocks of eel , perch , pike , carp , tench , catfish and pikeperch . The fishing is permitted under special consideration of the protection provisions of the nature park Schlaubetal.
Others
The forester's lodge Siehdichum is located in the immediate vicinity . The large Schinkensee merges into the Langesee to the north, and to the south as the Kleiner Schinkensee it joins the Hammersee . The rush edge can still be found on the ham and Langesee lakes . South of the Schinkensee there is a silting moor , cotton grass grows in the peat moss , and king and rib fern can be found in the forests .
