description

Grave 1

Grave 1 was known as "Reesen-Heege" (giant enclosure) or "Steenreege" (row of stones). It was a north-south facing chamberless giant bed with a length of 24 feet (approx. 7.2 m) and a width of 12 feet (approx. 3.6 m). It had a pile of mounds and an enclosure from which some stones had been removed before 1805. The hills fill contained numerous findings: In the northwest was a flint - ax , in the southeast more amber - pearls , three axes, several non-preserved ceramic vessels as well as in one of the vessels two cross-edged arrowheads ; in the south another 20 amber beads, two hatchets and 16 flint blades were found. An iron ax without a detailed location information could come from a reburial . The recovered finds were first brought to Ludwigslust and later in the collection of today's Archaeological State Museum Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in Schwerin , but are no longer preserved.

Grave 2

The "Reesen-Kapelle" (giant chapel) designated grave 2 had an irregular circle of deeply buried stones with a diameter of 30 feet (approx. 9 m). There were also some large stones to the side. This should have been the enclosure. No information is available about the burial chamber , so the exact type of grave cannot be determined. Only ashes , charcoal and some shards of vessels were found in the facility , which have not been preserved.
